Fashion Trend Runway Show

Tonight I sit in the audience at the Fashion Trends Fashion Show event as both a fan and as a designer. I must say these take a great deal of work and I look forward to the challenges of my first runway show. It is after all on my list of many things I want to do. Models displayed lovely works from Iza Boutique; Mary Jane's Boutique; Total Betty ; Studio Nails and Miamai. The place was packed and the lag was a nightmare. One could only feel horrible for the models who had to try and work their magic on cue...or for those who appeared nekkie on stage. But aside from that, the models were well trained and the show flowed much nicer than I ever thought was possible in SL. So all in all, I was a bit more nervous at the idea of having my items on stage but I'm sure all designers feel that way. I am grateful to have the ability to do it.

TempT goes down the rabbit hole

After hours of photo shop, models, packaging, and notices, I have finally gotten everything out! Here are just a few peeks of the goodies I made...

My version of Alice...

My version of the caterpillar...just a few of the costumes/avatars I placed out in my shop this morning.

Also, here is the picture of the TTLG hunt gift in my shop now. We are #27 and you are searching for a little mirror or "looking glass". It is hidden somewhere inside the shop and is not hard, I promise!

Ok I must get some sleep now! Hope you all enjoy!

May 23-31st TempT's May Flowers Hunt is on!

Join us for our monthly shop hunt at TempT, where fantasy and fashion meet! Look for 8 sculpted rose buds each in different colors, all over the store, the pond area, mercove, and the gardens. It is a unisex hunt btw ;) So from today until the end of May, come enjoy the lush green beauty of TempT's home while you seek out your free treasures.

We are also kicking off a delightfully bizarre Alice in Wonderland theme May 25th, as we release the Through the Looking Glass grid hunt giftie and many themed goodies, including costumes, avatars, and wackie decor. I will be posting soon so be prepared.

After a frustrating shopping experience trying to find my husband a gift for his birthday, I knew what had to be done. With so many no trans items in the fashion industry, I thought for sure that I would find gift cards at the top designer stores... giving my partner the choice of which skin or hair to grab. Instead, I hit dead end after dead end. Needless to say, when I got back home from the party, the first project? Gift cards! Now keep in mind that these are not the fancy shmancy scripted things...those are too laggy for me in my current location. They are old-school- buy card, write what you want on note card, send to me, I give you goodies :) So whats the benefit of waiting? The 10% savings automatically when you buy a gift card. If you don't mind the wait (typically no more than 24hrs, since I never seem to leave SL), one can also save some money purchasing gift cards for themselves.

The June Group Gift is already out, so wear those tags and get a set of 3 bikinis w/ matching skirts and sculpted heels to help get you ready for summer! Group gifts are for the main group only and does not apply to the SOM group. Want to be a part of the TempT gang? Join 'LaKira and Lachesis Designs' group and reap the rewards!

FFC Fantasy Faire 2009 & Extra hunts we are involved in

Just the other day I received an invitation to be a part of the first ever FFC Fantasy Faire 2009. This week-long event is to help raise money for Relay For Life and will be spread over an unspecified number of sims, each featuring a specific theme and only 20 of the top designers of that genre. Friends Fighting Cancer (FFC), will be hosting events and fund raisers to benefit those suffering from the devastating effects of cancer June 15-21st. After reading the info, I immediately and graciously accepted and commenced with the forms and reserving my place in the elven sim.
Now, deciding between the elven and mermaid sim was the toughest choice of all! Since I do primarily mermaid avatars, I started to lean towards the mermaid sector...but then I thought about all the fairy and elven creations I have and those far outweigh the avatars. And besides, a mermaid out of water is more plausible than elves and fairies living under the sea...so it was decided to reserve the elven space. I must say that I was very flattered to be considered a top fantasy designer and my heart has swelled up bunches! Thanks to all of you shoppers for your encouragement to keep creating and exploring new ideas!

Added Grid Hunt

We also have one last hunt for June and that is the GL "OMG....It's another hunt". Katlene is known for her awesome hunts and I just simply couldn't be left out of this one. So we have added the last June hunt to the exceptionally long list of TempT involved hunts!
Its a good thing I love doing freebies!

Blinded by the light...

As a designer of 2 years in SL, I admit, I have been afraid of offering up my product for reviews by the blog world or magazines. Perhaps I fear failing at something I love so much. But that is about to change...and actually quite by accident.
The other day, I had the opportunity to give a gift to an exclusive group celebration (Thank you Katlene) . Well as you all know, I donate first, ask questions later LOL. I love to give gifts because my products are made of love. Thats probaby why I have always done monthly hunts. Well I chose Toxica, my latest design in my mermaid av's. As I arrive to drop off my gift, I come face to face with none other than the very well known Callie Cline. Yup, it was her event...to celebrate bloggers and all they do for the fashion community. I found out that I was giving a gift to all the bloggers :) Now don't get me wrong, I am glad to do so. They work hard! But I slowly felt the fear creep up into my chest from the pit of my stomach as I start to wonder...is my gift good enough? Will they all look at it as an abomination of fashion? I mean, I am always giving my stuff to those who come to ME and say I love your stuff!!! My audience is those of you who value my work. So no big risk there ;) I choke back my fear and put a smile on my face. I reminded myself that I do this for the love of creation and I am simply doing what I love.
I was invited to attend the wonderful party and meet some of the amazing people who make up the fashion blogging world. I was amazed at the pure humble natures of most of these people and at that moment I felt that I had made a good choice. So being the bashful person I am in large groups, (yes I said bashful LOL) I started to profile surf and check out the works of some of these people. Pretty awesome talent out there! But I was saddened by some of the comments I was hearing by those people who just like to stir up drama. So I wanted to personally add my own thoughts to the issue...

*climbs up on her soap box a moment* Frankly I think its silly for anyone to call bloggers "freeloaders" including bloggers feeling they themselves are...Here is something to think about: for designers, a blogger is writing about 'your' store for no money. Its promotion for your work! So giving a blogger your product is no different than paying a writer to write a press release or other PR work, aside from the fact that it doesn't cost you a dime ;) And for the shoppers, a blogger is helping 'you' to find amazing products so that you don't have to surf every single store out there! So whats the issue? I think the bloggers out there have earned their free product, because they write for it. So thank-you bloggers to those of you who write because you love what you do. Thank-you to those of you who reject clique writing in lieu of writing openly and without restriction. Never be afraid to compliment a designer by letting us know you think we are worthy of your time! Time is a precious commodity! Happy Bloggers Week!
